However, I usually add 1 foot to each project for the "tails" on either end (have to have something to hold onto to make it, right?) Hope that helps. Misty of Loch Gryffyn Kingdom of Trimaris From the fb "SCA Arts and Sciences" group: Misty Rae Bourlart June 28 at 11:12am I'm training in my new recruit and she's discovered a love for her new lucet. She's been making meters and meters of lucet cord and is curious to know... A. What on earth can she do with all that cord ? and B. If she were to offer it up for bartering, what sort of trades do you think she'd be able to get? Kathy Kemmish I have used mine to string up a dress, gifted cord in the appropriate colors to Kingdom and Barony to hang awards on, stitched down as trim on a tunic, strung pouches.... June 28 at 12:03pm Katherine FionnaniCheallaigh Roberts I used to use some nice thick cotton string to make lanyards with a slide (once you've got the right length, double the cord you've already made up through the middle of what you're making now) for my hubby when he was fighting. I've done similar with much finer threads for customizable length necklace cords. Just to name a few. June 28 at 12:09pm Aon Duine Anything you could do with string, cord, yarn, twine, rope, trim. The only difference is you control the colors and the pattern of those colors. look around and see all the things you use string for, then think how much better it could be if you played with it.
