... you get an SCA vanity plate for your car.
I'm getting my first choice, YAY 1066. [footnote 1]
Second choice was HERALD 8. [2]
Third choice was AZURE 94. [3]

[2] I thought HERALD 1, HERALD 2, ... were too presumptuous, HERALD 4
would lead to the question "herald for whom?", and HERALD 9 would be a
claim (partly in German) that I *wasn't* a herald.

As I was going up 14 on my way to work the other day, I saw a van with
an SCA window sticker and the vanity plate "DUN OREO", which nicely
complemented the Dun Or bumpersticker.

I have seen at least two SCA vanity plates that I can
remember. The first was 'KSCA', and the second was
'DRGNSLYR' (the lady had killed three cars going to her
first three out-of-state events).

Lemme see...yup..mine says SYR EDRC...Sir Quentin ap Rhys has one that

has OTTO and his wife's is CARA (SCA names). Let you know more as I

Baron Niall McKennett and I have AFPOPA on ours, which stands for "Another
Fine Product of Ponte Alto, one of Ponte Alto's "mottoes." Our neighboring
Baron of Storvik has MORITU on his license plate.
We have found that the Commonwealth of Virginia will produce a special plate
with a imprinted logo for organizations (many college alumni associations
have this done) if presented with a petition of 300 or more names. Efforts
are underway to get a petition to the Commonwealth (we got more than 100
signatures at the first event the petition was brought out) for a SCA/
Atlantia plate.

Hmm...
In the Middle, I have seen the following plates:
Sir Bardolph Windlaufer I thinks has 2 SWORD as his
license plate.
Finn Jarl Herjolfson has JARL
Master Carlo and Mistress Myrra have PEERSX2.
(they're both double peers)
Maestra Ghita has GHITA
Apparently, vanity plates in Illinois are also real
cheap.
Now, what's really fun is to watch incoming cars at
Pennsic just to see the vanity plates. The parking
lot is full of vanity plates!

There's also Countess Leonora Morgana's (DECORUM), and Dorothy's (from
SunDragon in Atenveldt): SAK OZ (she _really_ dislikes her modern name).
And then there's mine (M GILES). It constantly amazes me that words that
are perfectly innocuous at a Society event (It means "Master Giles")
suddenly take on a whole new meaning in the parking lot of a gay bar.
I really prefer the text on my license plate holder:
"WELCOME TO CAID... NOW GET DRESSED."

Until our recent relocation from Atlantia to Trimaris, our noble

Mostly it's the Dark Horde folk around here who have vanity plates. The
seneschal's wife's car has the plate SCA DH, and a local Laurel has a van with
HORDE. A couple others, one persona-based (I forget how she spells it) and a
car with the vanity plate WARLOCK that I'll let speak for itself.

Ah, to add:
(Your pardon Excellencies)
Baron Corun MacAnndra - MORITU
Baron Niall McKennett - AFPOPA
(Another Fine Product of Ponte Alto)
Lady Aislynn Fyrlocc - FYRLOCC
Is SWRDFTR taken in Virginia? May have to change the
truck's plates from WIZRDRY for that one...
