Harris AKA: THLord Stefan li Rous Stefan at florilegium.org ************************************************************************ From the fb "Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) - Unofficial" group: Michelle Geiger December 9 at 8:49 PM What do you do with all your chookies, favors, baubles, and site tokens after events? I decided to put them into a vase with the flowers given to me at events. Coinage from the pointy hats went into the purple bag. Estrella War tokens will have something special. Wesley Marquand I give them to my daughters as necklaces where they promptly get lost and sucked into the vacuum cleaner. Amanda Geyer I tend to turn them into ornaments to put on my tree in December :) Alessandra Siobhan West Save them for 'gambling' at crown tourney :D Amanda Chaik Mattos Range I don’t have enough yet for this to be an issue, but I already have a spot to display everything I get. Gillian Allan I save them for Pennsic and give them to youth for the activities they participate in Grace Edwards I put some of the bigger ones on my Christmas tree Amy Dove I incorporated them into my viking "bling". Not all of course, but quite a few Drusilla Jackson I have sooo many...I have put some on the mug I bought at my second event...some on the handles of three different baskets.. some I have hanging on the wall in my craft room. For the doubles from my Lord husband and I going together to events...I use for tokens for fighters who fight for me. Paula Smead Pretty jar with lid. James Patrick Gluckhaus gambling loot Gail Lefkowitz I save tokens from local events and make a display for history exhibits. A selection of the flashiest tokens make a display for demos. Michael Jeffrey Looney I know a lot of people who use them as tree ornaments. Christina Lusk I have a token decorated Christmas tree Norana Cantrell I have a chain mail bracelet that I put them on. So it becomes like a charm bracelet. And mostly my son loves to play with it at events Steve Andrixos Boyd In our shire, about every three years the autocrat forgets to order pewter for site tokens and the call goes out. Folks bring in their less beloved tokens and they are melted down to give out guests new memories. Malinda Kester Over 43 years I have put them on my basket until the basket disintegrated, sewn them on a cloth used to cover things until it simply got too heavy, used them in Caid in a gambling game, given them away in other kingdoms as a thank-you token, put the really pretty ones in my treasure chest and on my Christmas tree, and currently they are put into the weaving of the basket on my mobility scooter. Corrie Bergeron I have a "bardic juju bag" with tokens, beads, etc that I've been given by folks who have appreciated a performance. I take them out and look at them when I'm feeling low. Zara Wyldechald I keep them on my basket and re-gift as needed Adam StJohn Lawrence I politely decline or return event tokens. I do not think them a useful use of time and creative effort. YMMV. Casey Cercone I have a bunch of birch boxes that I store them in. I have an event token one, an A&S token one and there are three from helping out with reigns that I put on a basket I store towels in that are “special” ones. Before I got into this I was sort of a boho yuppie type. Those pewter tokens make excellent decorative pieces for baskets, braids and tying to bowls or cups Tracy Jak Purl Sheridan Sewn to and hanging from my leather bag. Edited by Mark S.
