The Commedia dell'arte (Renaissance+ Italian popular theatre) is a

specialty of mine.  I've been performing/studying this technique for

some 21 years and lecturing on it in the SCA for over 12.

Here is a _select_ bibliography handout that I use with my lectures.  It's

a perennial work-in-progress; I'm always adding to it, although this copy

hasn't been added to since last June.

The Dover text that Tangwystl refers to is by P. L. Ducharte.  I _highly_

recommend the K. and L. Richards text - a monumental work of recent

research in the genre.
