I visited this place today.  The owner is a former longbowman and has

had some experience supplying musical instrument makers in Oberlin.

It's where I got the boxwood for my replication of #309 in "Knives and

Scabbards" they let me look through the pile and select what would work

best for me. They were kind to my kids too.

For anyone in the California Bay Area, let me recommend Southern Lumber

in San Jose. They are friendly people with a very good selection of

hardwoods.

But since you mentioned longbowmen, does anyone have a good source for

yew staves?

Checked their website... don't see boxwood listed anywhere... do you

recall how much it was per bd ft?

From their prices the figure in this stuff better be phenomonal.

For people in the lower Hudson Valley/NYC/Tri-State area, the best

supplier is:

M.L. CONDON   Lumber, Plywood, Mouldings, Custom Millwork

914-946-4111 250 Ferris Ave.

White Plains NY 10603

They have a large place up here in Dutchess Cty but I was able to find

the White Plains contact info easier :)
